Meta Tags
Definition:
The different features of a web page are defined through such tags.
Information:
Meta tags can be employed for an expansive array of metadata-data explaining other data-; however, the keyword tag and the description tag are chiefly emphasized upon by site advertisers. For a search engine enumeration, a few search engines select the description tag as the primary option, employing other means if they don’t find that tag. The keyword tags of the page may also be used by the search engines to strengthen its key themes. Metadata is not employed by all search engines, and others might not give much consideration to the text.
People have misused metatags that are not visible on the main page, for instance, keyword tags. In such cases of abuse, the most probable response of the search engines is to weaken the offending feature. Such cases are common in metatags since search engines progressively look for ‘reputation’ features not directly reliant upon the website owner.
