Search Engine
Definition:
Software that indexes files, consequently trying to matches those files with visitor’s search history.
Information:
Web search engines are commonly known by the name ‘search engines’, even though different types are there. Web search engines try to index a huge section of webpages on the World Wide Web. Some search engines are region-specific, topic-specific, and even site-specific.
Confusion is also encountered when differentiating between a search engine and a search destination. A search engine strengthens the search procedure and gives results for a search destination. Own engine, a 3rd party engine, or a merger of the two can be employed by a search destination. It is important to be aware of the difference between the two when URLs are being submitted as a destination that employed its own engine may not object to submitting directly, while a destination employing extrinsic engines might or might not offer the option for submitting.
