Keyword Density

Definition:

The total number of keywords per text.

Information:

When evaluating keyword density for different pages on search engines, note that it can differ. A specific keyword may be considered by one search platform and not by another as search engines employ divergent keywords and stemming formulas. There are differences regarding the composition of a ‘word’ and also about which tags different search platforms may endorse. Some search engines may only contain text; others might make use of texts in combination with META tags, ALT tags, comments tags, and what have you.

The keyword density would be 10% if a keyword has been employed for a total of 10 times out of the 100 total words in the text. Usually, professionals prefer keyword density to be good enough to be seen as the key theme of a page and not a general and insignificant word. On the other hand, one should not overdo keywords because numerous search platforms warn against keyword stuffing on web pages.
